Intro to Stand UpA beginner's stand-up class for people who want to perform but would like a little encouragement getting to their first open mic! Join Julia Corral as she helps ease you into writing and performing in a supportive, structured environment. Each student will leave with at least 5 minutes of polished stand-up material ready to hit the stage. In the class, we’ll explore terminology, technique, stage presence, and performance.
Find out how much fun it can be to take your unique point of view and daily observations and weave them into fully fleshed-out jokes. No experience is required, come as you are!
Intro to stand-up will culminate in a class show at Kickstand Comedy

Julia Corral is a Latina comic from Portland, OR. She has been described as the friendliest-caustic person you will ever meet. The Alt Weekly papers have named her Funniest 5 comics (WW) and Undisputed Genius of Comedy (Portland Mercury). She has performed at Limestone, All Jane, Treefort,Upper Left and Savage Henry Comedy Fest. She host Of Helium’s Cooch Street, Kickstand’s Comedy in the Park and many more shows in town. She has been featured on NPR.
