About this Event

Learn how to make a stained glass sun catcher using the coper foil method.

In this course you will learn how to make a simple sun catcher using the copper foil method. You will learn how to cut glass, use a glass grinder, and learn how to solder.

At the end of the course you will have a completed sun catcher that is 6" tall.

All materials are included in the course cost.

You will be working with glass and lead. Expect a few cuts. This class should not be taken by anyone that is pregnant as lead may cause birth defects.

FAQs

Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?

The class is designed for adults, but children 12 and up can take the class when accompanied by an adult. Please contact in advance at [email protected] to make sure your child can be accomodated. No more than two children can attend the class as they require extra attention when building their projects.

What can I bring into the event?

All materials are supplied but it is recommended to bring a bottle of water and tie your hair back if you have long hair. A light snack is also recommended as there is a 30 minute break in the middle of the class. All participants should wear closed toed shoes. All materials are otherwise supplied.

Can I bring a custom pattern?

Although there are 10 beginner patterns to choose from, if you would like to do a custom pattern, please email Corinne in advance to approve the pattern. As long as it is free for use (not another artist's copyrighted work) and doable as a beginner in the time that we have then you can bring your own pattern. Patterns are limited to 7 or 8 pieces.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Contact Corinne at [email protected] or 604-505-9252. Please make sure to leave a message if calling and getting voicemail. Corinne is often teaching or at a market and is not always able to answer the phone, but will return your call as quickly as possible. Please do not contact MakerLabs about this event, as it is run independently from their facility.

What's the refund policy?

If you cancel more than 72 hours before the event starts you will receive a refund, minus Eventbrite processing fees.

If you cancel within 72 hours before the event starts, there are no refunds but you may re-schedule for an alternate class date.

Students may only reschedule once before forfeiting their original ticket.

No shows with no indication of cancelation will not receive a refund and will not be able to re-schedule for an alternate class date. Out of respect to the other students, latecomers arriving more than 5 minutes late will not be allowed entry to the class and will be considered a no show.
