Tuesday, January 21- Virtual - Topic: Introduction to Soil-less Systems
Wednesday, January 22 - In-person - Topic: Hydroponic Seeding and Materials
Week 2:
Tuesday, January 28– Virtual - Topic: System Types and Designs
Wednesday, January 29 - In person - Topic: Basic Plumbing Tools and Repair
Week 3:
Tuesday, February 4- Virtual - Topic: Water Quality and System Maintenance
Wednesday, February 5- In-Person - Water Quality Testing, Nutrients and Pest Management
Week 4:
Tuesday, February 11 – Virtual - Topic: Current Soilless Research (Guest Speaker: Dr. Hossain Azam)
Wednesday, February 12 - In-Person - Harvesting and Packaging
Duration: 16 hours total (8 virtual, 8 in-person)
Location: Hybrid - Virtual and UDC-Community College (Lamond Riggs Campus)
Cost: $150
Payment Options: Payments can be made in the form of a check or money order. Payments must be received on or by the first day of the training. Participants may pay by cash at the Cashier’s Office in advance of class during hours of operation.

Credential Earned: This is a non-credit-bearing course. A certificate will be issued to participants who attend all of the training sessions.
Course Description:
This hybrid course trains individuals to understand the importance of materials, construction, maintenance, and products utilized to create and farm a successful hydroponics system.
Participants will learn:
- The importance of soil-less systems in the past as well as for the future and in urban spaces.
- Different types of soil-less systems and their various designs
- What factors, materials, and labor are required to maintain distinct types of hydroponics systems.
- The skills required to assemble, install, maintain, and adjust hydroponics systems.
Who Should Attend?
Beginning farmers, urban agriculturalists, students, and agriculture service providers that are interested in learning how to operate hydroponics systems
