Intro to Soft Glass- Snakes with Maria Aroche

This beginners flameworking workshop will explore the possibilities of sculpting molten glass rods at the torch to make colorful snakes! After covering safety protocol, we will move onto learning the techniques needed to create snakes in glass forms, including heat control and using different tools.

What to expect: Flameworking with soft glass requires a little practice at heat control with the torch to create successful sculptures. After demonstrations, expect to make between 2 - 6 successful objects in this class, and a couple failures, while gaining confidence and skill in the studio. Eligibility: No previous experience required. Open to ages 14 and up.

Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.

This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration. The masking policy for this program will be communicated on the first day of class, so please bring a mask with you (we will have extra masks available).
