Intro to Sgraffito Pottery (3 Days)

Explore the art of sgraffito in our Intro to Sgraffito pottery class! In this workshop, you'll learn the technique of carving intricate designs into your clay pieces to create stunning patterns and textures. Focused on crafting a functional tray, perfect for beginners, this class will guide you step-by-step as you create a beautiful, hand-decorated tray that showcases your newfound sgraffito skills!

This is a three-day class; all three sessions must be attended to finish the project.

Session 2: 4/15 @ 10am-1pm

Session 3: 4/29 @ 10am-11:30pm

Instructor: Doke Collins

Instructor Bio: My name is Doke Collins, and I have lived in Portsmouth for 29 years. I have primarily worked in educational settings and love helping people explore new, creative ways of expressing themselves. Pottery has been my long-time passion, and I have been part of several studios. My specialty is handbuilding. I am very excited to be part of the fantastic new Pottery Studio in Portsmouth and look forward to working with you.
