Instructor: Alice Bespolko
Are you ready to channel the enthusiasm of traditional rug hookers but with a modern twist? This time-honoured craft has morphed to join the 21st century in design while maintaining many traditional rules. Learn how to pull loops in wool or yarn while exploring the history and practice of rug hooking through samples and visits with guest artists. You will be able to start and complete a trivet as your first project while gaining knowledge about this medium of artistic expression.
Materials and use of studio tools are included in the registration fee for this course.
About the Instructor:
Alice Bespolko is a fibre artist who weaves and rug hooks. She explores this media using different textiles, colours and methods. Her work has appeared at OHCG Conferences and the AGB All Guilds Show. She travels to Sauder village in Ohio annually to further her own education and to feed her creativity. She has taught proddy workshops with great results. Alice is presently working on the TIGR board preparing for an international hooking conference in 2024.

ART SUPPLIES: Basic materials and use of studio tools are included in the registration fee for this course. Additional supplies may be sourced by the student or purchased from the instructor.
ATTIRE: Please dress in clothing that reflects the nature of the activity. Your clothing may get messy from the materials and mediums utilized in your class. Also, closed-toe shoes are mandatory.
