Intro to React Styled Components and Alumni AMA | Chicago
Join us at the Flatiron Chicago as we show off the Styled-Components library for React and discuss why they're becoming popular to use.
About this Event

Bart Sakowski is a software engineering grad and current front end developer for ES99. During his talk he will be taking questions about his time at Flatiron School and his current position. He will also show off the Styled-Components library for React, which he uses every day at work.

What are Styled-Components?

Styled-Components is a library for React that allows the developer to write CSS in their Javascript and keep with React development principles.

These components help the site be far more performant, only calling the styles that are necessary for each component that is currently being rendered on the page. Additionally, styled-components accept props in a similar way as any other React component would, allowing for ease of development and cleaner code, shorter.

Styled-Components are used by companies such as Weedmaps, Tinder, Zillow, Volkswagen and Reddit. It is relatively easy to pick up while also being highly sought after by employers.

Light snacks and beverages will be provided.
