Students, ages 7-11, will learn instrument-specific skills, such as navigating the whole range of the keyboard, creating a variety of sounds on the keys, coordinating both hands, and maintaining healthy technique. These activities are grounded in group activities that develop holistic musicianship, such as keeping a musical heartbeat, moving the whole body to music, echoing back patterns with the voice, and working together as a creative team. Our last class will include a showcase for family and friends to celebrate students’ progress.
