About this Event
Get to know your (DSLR) camera! We’ll go over the basic but essential functions and settings of your camera. You'll learn about how a camera works, what aperture and shutter speed mean, how to properly care for your camera, and so much more!
Don’t have a camera? Learn on one of ours! All material costs are included in the price of registration. Additionally, you'll be able to use our digital photography lab to transfer your photos.
Intro to Photography is suggested for ages 14 through Adult.
About the Instructor
Nick Butler has been teaching photography at Locust Street Art since 2021. A graduate of SUNY Buffalo State's Photography department, He studied with professors Les Krims and Jim Sylvia and University photographer Bruce Fox. His academic honors include Best of Show in the Best of SUNY Exhibition, a Summer Research Fellowship Grant and numerous awards in national college photography contests. Nick has also taught photography workshops at Jamestown Community College, and his work has been on display in numerous galleries in and around Buffalo, NY.
Accessibility
Locust Street Art is located in a historic building with eight steps to access our main entrance. A side entrance is available for students with limited mobility—this entrance has four steps to access our main hallway. We are currently fundraising to make our building more accessible.
