Curious about Mah Jongg but not sure where to start? This beginner-friendly class is designed to take you from “I’ve always wanted to learn” to confidently playing the game.
We'll Focus On:
-In this 2.25-hour, instructor-led session, you’ll learn the foundations of American Mah Jongg, including:
-How the tiles work and how a game flows
-How to read and use the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) card
-The basics of building a hand, drawing, discarding, and calling tiles
-Common terminology and table etiquette
-Tips that help the game click faster for new players
Classes are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 12 students and an instructor-to-student ratio of no more than 1:6. This allows plenty of hands-on guidance, questions, and supported play as you learn.
No prior experience is required. Tiles and all game equipment are provided. We will even loan you a NMJL Card.
