Intro to Longform - An Improv Workshop with TBC Spain

Join us for an exciting and immersive 3-hour workshop moving past games and into characters, stories and transitions. Whether you're a seasoned performer looking to expand your repertoire, or a newcomer eager to dive deeper into the world of improv, this workshop is perfect for you.

Lauren Berning is the founder of international improv brand "TBC Improv". She's an improv veteran with over 27 years of experience across 4 continents. With a background in stage acting, she brings a unique and personal touch to every class and shares her deep passion for improv from start to finish.

Longform improv is a dynamic and exhilarating style of improvisation that allows performers to create extended scenes, stories, and even entire shows from a single suggestion. In this half-day workshop you'll learn the fundamental techniques and structures that make longform improv both challenging and immensely rewarding.

• Introduction to Longform Structures: Learn about longform formats and understand how they differ from shortform improv.
• Building a Scene: Discover the art of creating rich, layered scenes that have depth and longevity.
• Scene Painting & Scene Development: Delve deeper into scene and space creation and explore how to drive and extend longform scenes.
• Transitions and Edits: Master the techniques for transitioning between scenes and making seamless edits.

This workshop is open to all skill levels, but some prior improv experience is recommended. Whether you’ve dabbled in shortform improv or taken a few acting classes, this workshop will provide a solid foundation in longform techniques.
