Intro to Lapidary - Learn to Make a Cabochon
Advertisement
Learn the complete process of transforming stone into a smooth, finished cabochon. You’ll begin by selecting a slab (flat, pre-cut stone). You’re welcome to bring your own slab if you have one. Please note: our equipment is not designed to cut whole rocks into slabs. Then plan your design and trim it to shape on the saw. From there, you’ll move to the cabbing machine to grind, sand, and polish your piece to a glossy finish.
This beginner-friendly class walks you through each step with guidance and hands-on practice — no prior experience needed.
Maximum 2 students at a time.
Already have experience? You can also access the lapidary area by completing a tool certification, which allows you to work independently using our equipment.
No membership required to take this class or use the space.
