Using safe, modern materials, you'll repair a ceramic piece while learning beginner-friendly Kintsugi techniques, exploring creative design ideas, and reflecting on the symbolism of resilience, healing, and transformation. No experience needed.

・All materials and broken pieces are provided.
・You're welcome to bring your own 1 piece: palm-sized, 2 to 3 fragements, no big missing piece only.
・This workshop uses synthetic materials for beginners. The finished piece is for decorative use only.

This workshop is inspired by the philosophy of Kintsugi rather than traditional museum-quality restoration techniques. The emphasis is on creativity, mindfulness, and creating a meaningful keepsake you'll take home at the end of class.
About the Workshop

Sayako Hiroi is a Tokyo-born artist and kintsugi practitioner currently based in Boston. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, where she developed her distinctive approach to painting and began exploring kintsugi.
Her work bridges traditional Japanese craftsmanship with contemporary art, operating at the intersection of Japanese and U.S. cultures.

Throughout the class, you'll receive step-by-step guidance, creative inspiration, and practical techniques while enjoying a relaxed and welcoming environment.
