Intro to IMPROV with The NEGATIVE

This pilot is for ANYONE under the sun looking to go on a super fun improv adventure where scenes, characters and stories are created out of thin air.  

No prior experience needed.

Through exercises and scene work we will: 

   - Answer the big question: ‘What the heck is IMPROV?’ !

   - Unleash lightning-fast thinking !

   - Crank up the confidence, positivity and creativity !

   - Discover the super power of generating unscripted and unrehearsed content!

   - Surprise ourselves with active listening, agreement & spontaneous wit !

   - Have more FUN than a barrel of monkeys at a banana buffet!

KNOW YOUR INSTRUCTORS

Neeltarni is an actor and writer based in Los Angeles. She has trained at some of the entertainment industry`s most prestigious institutions like Upright Citizens Brigade, iO West, Second City, LAMDA, The Idiot Workshops and Howard Fine Acting Studio where Hollywood icons like Will Smith, Dwayne Johnson, Brad Pitt, Chris Pine, Jared Leto, Austin Butler, Benedict Cumberbatch, Vanessa Hudgens, Gal Gadot, Steve Carell and many more have perfected their craft.

Krishan Hooda is an improviser and filmmaker who helps performers unlock creativity, spontaneity, and confidence. His motto, “Learn to fail on stage” encourages artists to embrace vulnerability and shine. As co-founder of The NEGATIVE, he and Neeltarni Pratap have spent the last two years rigorously building and spreading improv across India through workshops that blend humor with storytelling.

As a filmmaker, Krishan has directed celebrated actors including Naseeruddin Shah, Sunil Grover, Daisy Shah, Rajesh Tailang, and Vidya Malvade. He has created and performed in shows like Comedy Please! and is known for growing thriving creative communities and leading long-form improv in India.

Get ready to step into a realm of boundless creativity, laughter and self-expression! We are absolutely delighted to have you as a part of our vibrant community and we can`t wait to embark on this exciting journey of discovery and playfulness together.

The class will start no later than 5 mins in, if you think you are gonna be late then please inform us ahead of time. If arriving late then please wait to enter until you hear us talking to not disturb the performances. 

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE CLASS

Please arrive ready to play! Take time before class to get in the mood to experiment and play. Carve out this time just for yourself. Whatever is happening out there will be there when you leave the class. We will be moving a lot! Come well rested if you wish to get the most out of this class. 

Wear anything that is comfortable and allows a wide range of movement! Wear comfortable and secure shoes. No Flip-Flops allowed.

Bring water. There won`t be any breaks in between but you are allowed to bring water in the studio.

Bring a jacket, if you wish, as it can get a little chilly.

NO PHONES ALLOWED. Phones need to be turned off during the class. Note taking is encouraged so please bring pen and paper if you wish to take notes.
