“With improv, it’s a combination of listening and not trying to be funny. “- KRISTEN WIIG
In this course you will learn the basics skills you need to create improvised comedy. You will learn how to start a scene and the importance of listening to your scene partners. You’ll also get practice playing characters and having fun in the made up worlds they exist in. You’ll also have a great, great time.
After eight weeks of class time, you and your classmates will perform at a Blind Tiger Comedy show! This may sound scary now, but trust us by the time you get there you’ll be ready to rock!
This intro to improv class is designed for Autistic teens ages 13-18. It is best suited to participants who like to learn and engage in a group setting and who can remain on task with limited support. Participants must be able to use the bathroom independently. This class is offered as part of an exciting partnership between Blind Tiger Comedy and Canucks Autism Network (CAN), and CAN support workers will be on hand for each class.
