Join us for an engaging introduction to impact business—an exciting and rapidly growing space where profit meets purpose. This session will explore how innovative ventures are tackling some of the world’s most pressing social and environmental challenges, while remaining commercially sustainable.
Whether you’re developing an idea, exploring a new direction, or simply interested in purposeful entrepreneurship, this session will provide inspiration and practical insight to get you thinking about your own “business for good”.
In this session, we’ll cover:
- What impact business is and why it matters
- Different types of purpose-led business models
- How success and performance are measured in impact-driven ventures
About the Speaker – Shona McElroy
Shona McElroy brings over 20 years of experience working with entrepreneurs, funders, and investors to create and grow businesses with meaningful social and environmental impact. Her work spans social and climate tech startups, NGOs, community businesses, and social enterprises across the UK and New Zealand.
She has designed and managed start-up accelerators, as well as innovation and impact investment seed funds exceeding $10 million. Blending expertise in start-up development, innovation, and social impact, Shona delivers training, workshops, and mentorship for individuals from early-stage ideas through to growth.
Shona is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Stirling, focusing on community energy.
