About this Event
This class continues where Part I concludes: combining your singles to create sturdier, squishier, and more balanced yarns. Students who have mastered the drop spindle (or wheel) can bring in their singles and will be instructed on the mechanics and different styles of plying. Time to practice and experiment will be provided, and the Ashford wheel will be set up for students to try plying on. We will also review the best practices for washing your handspun, and ways to finish and store skeins until you have a project that calls for yarn. Students will have the option to bring home just the yarn they create, or to keep the drop spindle provided to them for a small fee to keep on spinning at home.
This class requires Handspinning I.
Attendees should bring, at minimum, the yarn they spun in Class 1, and ideally should have spun additional yarn between classes 1 and 2.
Students should bring previously acquired wool, but more roving may be provided ($10/4oz.) Repeat customers will probably have spindles. ($5/per if not)
