*You DO NOT have to have your own props and you do not have to light a prop on fire in order to take this class*Lecture (2 hrs):
-Fuel Science
-Material Science
-Fabric burn testing
-The diagram of a fire circle
Fire Circle Lab (1hr +)
-Setting up fuel, safety, and performance stations
-How to be a fire safety and how to extinguish various props
-How to participate in a fire circle, and start your journey as a competent member of the fire flow community
This is NOT a flow workshop (flow classes are Thursdays at 5:30pm). This class is for those that are ready to light for the first time, those interested in learning more about fire safety & fire circles, and those wishing to be a competent fire safety but have no desire to play with fire.
Those without flow prop experience will be able to light palm torches. Those with flow prop experience will be able to light their props.
Please wear close fitting garments that are mostly cotton (jeans are cool), close toed shoes, hair pulled back or in bun, and no rings, bracelets or dangling jewelry. Those not wearing fire safe clothing will not be allowed to participate in the practicum part of the workshop.
