This introductory course will discuss the International Phonetic Alphabet, how to identify your dialect, and basics of British Received Pronunciation (RP) and General American (GA). This 3 hour intensive will give you some basic tools based on Paul Meier's Accent's & Dialects for Stage and Screen. This course will get you started with a foundation for how to learn and reproduce other dialects.
About the teacher: Andrea Young holds a BFA in Acting from Wright State University and is experienced in multiple voice techniques and dialects from RP to Brooklyn to Russian. She utilizes voice training techniques from Paul Meier, Arthur Lessac, and Kristin Linklater.
