Led by Miss Kate of Kind Hands Design Co. Intro to Crochet is a welcoming, hands-on fiber arts course for kids ready to explore the world of yarn! Over six weeks, students will learn how to use crochet tools, build foundational stitches, read simple patterns, and create two beginner-friendly projects: a cozy ear warmer and an adorable manta ray stuffie.This class nurtures confidence, creativity, and community through slow crafting and meaningful making.
Weekly Breakdown
Week of 11/2: Yarn + Tools + Starting Off
Meet your yarn and crochet tools
Learn how to make a slip knot and chain stitches
Begin first rows of a cozy ear warmer
Practice reading a simple pattern
Practice posture, grip, and keeping tension
Week of 11/9: Building Skills
Continue working on ear warmers
Learn three crochet stitches and how to turn a row
Label and store individual projects
Week of 11/16: Finishing Your First Project
Finish the ear warmer

Celebrate our first finished piece!
