Intro to Basketry - Weave a Round Basket

Join us as we weave a round basket over the course of 2 weeks. Depending on your speed and skill level you'll make either a bread basket or a foraging basket with a handle. You'll learn the techniques of pairing, waling, randing, making borders and perhaps making a simple handle if there's time.

This class is perfect for those looking to begin to learn weaving methods, and can either be attended as a stand-alone class, or combined with my other 'Introduction to Basketry' sessions to form a complete beginners' course, featuring making tension trays, stars, bird feeders and ending with weaving a round basket in the last two sessions (those who have attended all the sessions will hopefully have gained enough speed, familiarity with the materials, and ability to make a larger basket in these last sessions).

All tools and materials will be provided. This is a fun, relaxed introduction to weaving, with no prior experience necessary (but please be aware that manual dexterity is required - arthritis and other hand problems can make this challenging).
