Create a personalized piece of art and spark your creativity! Ages 14+, January 19, 2023 - 1-4pm
In this 3-hour workshop you'll create a special one-of-a-kind artwork, great for giving as a gift or as a keepsake of a memorable time or event. You get to decide on the subject matter (perhaps a friend, relative, pet, special place?) to honor with your creation. Artist and educator, Pam McKnight will show you tips and tricks she's learned as an assemblage artist, so you can create more works at home. She will also share her collection of found objects, ephemera, and substrates for you to use. If you need help coming up with a theme, Pam is happy to help you, as well! All levels welcome in this fun, approachable class.
Open to ages 14+. No previous experience in visual art or assemblage is necessary.
Please bring the following with you:
- Ephemera related to your theme (i.e. ticket stubs, maps, letters, stamps, photos, brochures, etc.)
- Small 3-D objects (i.e. buttons, jewelry, miniatures, game pieces, beads, etc.)
- Any additional materials you might like to use
Optional:
- Layered clothing, as the temperatures may be difficult to manage in the building
- A water bottle with a lid
All additional supplies will be provided by the instructor. You'll walk away with a finished piece, ready to give or add to your own home.
This class may be postponed/cancelled if a minimum of 4 participants is not achieved. We will notify you via email with any class updates.
