(b.2001) is a multidisciplinary artist and creative born and raised in Denver, Colorado, with their summers and holidays in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Their artistic endeavors intricately interweave their multiracial Latine heritage and trans/queer identities across various mediums including photography, fashion, poetry, and performance art. Amayas achieved their inaugural solo exhibition at the age of 20 in Denver's Spectra Art Space, featuring a collection titled "Pearls, Neon Lights, and Hatred," which melded poetry with an upcycled clothing series. Motivated by a desire to create the imagery and narratives they yearned for in their formative years, Amayas endeavors to introduce art reflective of their journey, while simultaneously challenging societal boundaries by venturing into unconventional spaces. Amayas aims to pave the way for future generations of trans femmes of color, amplifying narratives that have historically been marginalized and overlooked.
