A pottery workshop where you'll connect with your sexuality and embed your sexual energy into clay.About this Event
A pottery workshop where you'll connect with your sexuality* and embed your sexual energy into clay, creating a tangible and personified representation of this energy which you can draw from in the future. This can be the energy you are already familiar with or one you want to welcome into your body and relationships. I
At the end of the workshop, you will have a better understanding of your sexuality and your needs, and you will have a sculpture that represents these.
The main section of the workshop is a 1.5 hours of free-form pottery, where you can let your energy out and create a representation of your sexuality.
In the final portion of the workshop we will come back together to reflect on our experience, share what we created and the meaning it holds. We will end with a grounding exercise.
An acknowledgement of trauma: The topic of sexuality can bring about trepidation, shame, shyness, joy, silliness, and arousal all these and any other feelings are welcome in the workshop and can be a part of your personal process. There is no judgment or expectation on what the process should be, therefore, you can opt out of any exercise you do not want to do including sharing with the group. The facilitator will be present and attuned to the group and will check in on people and offering encouragements throughout the workshop.
*sexuality will be an umbrella term for various aspects of your experience that might include but are not limited to: sex, intimacy, touch, body connection, relationships with self and others, etc.
