Interwoven: Yoga with Props for SOF Spouses
Special Operations Forces Spouses are invited to join The Station Foundation for a morning of guided yoga with the use of props. This practice will emphasize the use of props like blocks, straps, bolsters, and the wall. Using props can modify a pose as well as enhance a pose. This often requires a deeper connection to the breath as the pose changes. Props are a useful tool to advance to another stage a pose may offer. The use of a block or strap gives the person practicing a chance to scan her body and understand where additional space may be created as she continues to practice. This may result in possibly not needing the prop later in another practice.
Props are a wonderful addition to your yoga practice. A variety of props should be offered in each yoga practice for any style of yoga class.
9:00 AM: Arrival
9:15 - 10:15 AM: Yoga Flow with Props
10:15 - 10:30 AM: Connection and Refreshments
- Please bring a yoga mat if you have one.
- Bring a water bottle.
- No experience is necessary.
