About this Event
Interwoven - Thriving in Shared Spaces is for Muslim, Indigenous, Black and other racialized women living in Edmonton, who experience racism that affects their mental health, safety and sense of belonging.
Sisters Dialogue will hold four workshops, each focused on a different area of life where racism exists within workplaces, educational institutions, within or between communities, and even within extended families.
In this second session, Nafissa Moallim will guide participants in exploring how racism shapes our experiences both within our own communities and in the broader society. This session offers a space to learn, share stories, and build meaningful connections across communities.
Participants will also contribute to a collective art piece based on weaving co-facilitated by Fatme Elkadry and Aida Elkadri. This is symbolic of how their individual stories and experiences are interlaced, creating something stronger and more beautiful together. It will be displayed at Amanah as a lasting testament to their shared journeys.
Weaving our voices into shared strength!
Childminding and refreshments provided.
