About this Event

Interwoven: Little Worlds We Build Together
Whimsical Felted Mushroom Houses - Mommy & Me

Special Operations Forces mothers and children (ages 6 and older) are invited to join The Station Foundation for a morning of creativity, imagination, and meaningful connection through the art of needle felting.

Home means something unique to every military family. Sometimes it's a house. Sometimes it's a memory. Sometimes it's the people who make every new place feel familiar.

During this special Mommy & Me Interwoven experience, mothers and children will create whimsical felted mushroom houses, tiny homes filled with imagination, personality, and wonder. Every house begins with the same materials, yet each one becomes unique, just as every family creates its own traditions, memories, and sense of belonging wherever military life takes them. Families are formed through countless small moments of love, attention, encouragement, and shared experiences. Long after the workshop is over, these tiny houses become reminders that home is something we carry with us and continue building together.

Needle felting invites us to slow down. Each gentle poke of the needle shapes loose fibers into something strong and beautiful, reminding us that meaningful things are created one small moment at a time. As hands stay busy, conversation often comes more easily, making space for laughter, storytelling, and simply enjoying one another's company.

This workshop isn't about creating a perfect piece of art. It's about creating together. Whether this is your first time felting or you're already a seasoned maker, this workshop offers a welcoming space to create, connect, and celebrate the joy of making something by hand alongside your child.
