Interwoven: Built to Give - Sleep in Heavenly Sleep

Special Operations Forces families are invited to join The Station Foundation for a morning of a family service experience in partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Every child deserves a safe, comfortable place to sleep.

Together, our families will help make that possible by building handcrafted beds for children in our local community who do not have one of their own.

Throughout the morning, families will work side by side measuring, sanding, drilling, staining, assembling, and branding beds that will become places of comfort, rest, and hope for children they may never meet. While the work is practical, its impact reaches far beyond the workshop. Every board, every screw, and every helping hand becomes part of a story of kindness and generosity.

Serving together helps families experience the quiet fulfillment that comes from using their hands and hearts to meet the needs of others and the joy of contributing to something larger. As children work alongside the adults in their lives, they witness compassion in action and learn that meaningful change often begins with ordinary people choosing to serve together.

This experience is about more than building beds. It is about building empathy, gratitude, teamwork, and a lifelong understanding that every act of kindness, no matter how small, has the power to restore dignity and bring hope to another family. Together, we are reminded that the strongest communities are built not only by those who serve their own families, but also by those who care for families they have never met.

New to Interwoven events with The Station? Welcome! Please note that our OutStation Facilitator, Teah Fagins, will be in contact with you to share our mission and confirm your Special Operations Forces affiliation.

• This workshop may be most appropriate for children ages six and older. Children of all ages and abilities are welcome to design "You are Loved" cards for our bed recipients. A craft table will be set up to include craft materials so that children and adults can tap into their creativity.
• Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the program.
• Come dressed in casual, easy-to-move-in, "play" clothing.
• Participants must wear closed-toe shoes.
• All supplies will be provided on-site.
• Refreshments and snacks will be provided throughout the duration of the workshop.

• No experience is necessary.
• Boxed lunches will be provided.
