This outreach experience is open to Spouses and Tweens within the Special Operations Forces Community.
About this Event

Susan Verde, author of I am Peace, A Book of Mindfulness reminds us that, “Children have a lot to navigate in this world. They are learning how to make good choices and manage their emotions. They are learning how to be kind to themselves and others while keeping up with schoolwork and balancing their busy lives.”

Tweens (ages 8-12) and a SOF parent are warmly invited to join The Station Foundation for a meaningful afternoon centered on mindfulness, reflection, and connection. Together, tweens and parents will receive and read I Am Peace, A Book of Mindfulness, exploring how to manage emotions and be kind to themselves.

Following the discussion, the group will practice gentle yoga and enjoy a calming nature walk (weather permitting), offering time to slow down, experience, and be present together.

Participants are invited to stay for light refreshments and relaxed conversation with other parents and tweens who understand the unique rhythm of SOF life.

Event Details:

Please dress comfortably and according to the weather.
Bring a yoga mat if you have one. If not, we will be happy to provide one for you.
Wear comfortable shoes for walking.
Bring a water bottle.
