Interrogating Our Shared Documents: The Constitution

A close reading of the American documents for what they offer, what they hide, how we can reimagine ourselves through the language within.
About this Event

What do our shared historical documents hide?

In this workshop, Teri Ellen Cross Davis leads us in a close reading of the American documents for what they offer, what they hide, how we can reimagine ourselves through the language within. Erasures, experimentation, oppositions, narratives and counternarratives will all come alive. Resource texts and strategies will draw from the work of Layli Long Soldier, Reginald Dwayne Betts, Alan Pelaez Lopez, among others.

Facilitator: Teri Ellen Cross Davis
Speaker: Raina León

This program is made possible by the generous support of the Academy of American Poets and the Mellon Foundation as part of Treasured: A People's Archive.
