Abstract: Ancient DNA studies have been exploding in the last decades and have yielded a large range of provocative and revelatory interpretations, not just in regard to humans, but many other species. One challenging aspect of such research is that once one has some analytical results, how does one move to propose interpretations as to the significance of the results? Join the Archaeological Research Facility for a panel discussion with experts from UC Berkeley and beyond on “Interpreting Ancient DNA.”
Speaker: Sabina Cveček, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Fellow, Field Museum & Austrian Academy of Sciences
Speaker: Manjusha Chintalapati, Postdoctoral Researcher, Ancestry
Speaker: Sophie K. Joseph, Postdoctoral Researcher, Molecular and Cell Biology, UC Berkeley
