International Yoga Day - June 21st
About this Event
International Yoga Day & Summer Solstice Celebration at Ojhus - The Healing Forest
Join us for a special afternoon of yoga, meditation, self-discovery, and nature as we celebrate International Yoga Day and the Summer Solstice.
The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year and has been honored across cultures as a time of light, growth, abundance, and renewal. At Ojhus, we celebrate the Winter Solstice by honoring the harvest that nourishes the body, and the Summer Solstice by turning inward to nourish the mind and soul.
This gathering is an opportunity to step away from the busyness of daily life, reconnect with yourself, and experience practices that promote physical health, mental clarity, emotional balance, and inner peace.
Session 1: Traditional Pranayama & Meditation
3:00 PM – 3:45 PM
Join Aparna Ishvari for a traditional and sublime pranayama and meditation session. Participants will be guided through practices designed to cleanse and balance the nadis (energy channels), preparing the body and mind to receive and experience deeper states of awareness and inner calm.
No prior experience is required. Beginners are welcome, and all practices will be fully guided.
Herbal Tea Break
3:45 PM – 4:00 PM & 5.00 PM - 5.30 PM
Enjoy a selection of handcrafted herbal tea blends prepared from plants grown right here at Ojhus The Healing Forest. Learn about the traditional uses and benefits of some of the herbs cultivated on the farm while connecting with fellow participants.
Session 2: Introduction to Simplified Kundalini Yoga (SKY)
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Experience the teachings of Yogiraj Vethathiri Maharishi through Simplified Kundalini Yoga (SKY), a practical system that combines simple physical exercises, meditation, Kayakalpa Yoga, and introspection techniques to help improve overall well-being.
The session will introduce participants to practices that can help:
- Improve physical health and vitality
- Calm the mind and reduce stress
- Develop self-awareness and emotional balance
- Reduce anger, worry, fear, and negative thought patterns
- Foster harmony within oneself and in relationships
The core philosophy of SKY is that lasting world peace begins with individual peace. By cultivating balance within ourselves, we contribute to peace in our families, communities, and society.
