The educational and concert platform for new music DME is announcing the 3rd edition of the International Summer School for composers, with which they will collaborate with talented musicians Éric-Maria Couturier (cellist of Ensemble Intercontemporain) and Bertrand Chavarria-Aldrete (guitar player, visual artist and composer who premiered more than 90 contemporary pieces as a performer).
This event will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, on July 6-10, 2023. Composers regardless of age and residence are welcome to apply.
This year, the composition tutor will be Jaime Reis (Portugal), who will give group and individual lessons to the students.

Deadline for application is April 2nd, 2023.

Each selected participant will have the following opportunities:
• Lessons with composer Jaime Reis;
• Rehearsals with the artists Éric-Maria Couturier and Bertrand Chavarria-Aldrete;
• Access to other workshops and lectures (to be announced);
• Call for scores to be performed at the final concert of the masterclasses on July 10th, 2023. The available instruments are: cello and guitar. Both solo and duo pieces will be accepted, with or without electronics (fixed and live). Acousmatic pieces will also be considered (up to sixteen channels). Only one piece will be performed. Please note that the musicians need to receive the scores the latest on June 1st, 2023.
• Audio and video recording of the pieces made during the final concert.
• Attending other concerts of the festival which will be held at the same time (July 6-10th, 2023).

The tuition fees depend on the following categories:
· Active participation (one individual lesson with the tutor) + Piece Performed: €500,00
· Active participation (one individual lesson with the tutor) + Piece Performed (Acousmatic): €350,00
· Passive participation (possibility to attend all activities, no individual lesson and no piece performed): €150

Portuguese composers (or resident in Portugal) are entitled to receive a grant that will range between €50,00 and €200,00. The grant applicants should attach a motivation letter in the formulary with maximum 3000 characters.
Each participant is responsible for her or his travel expenses, accommodation and meals in Lisbon.

A plataforma educacional e de concertos para a nova música DME anuncia a 3ª edição da Escola Internacional de Verão para Compositores, com a qual irão colaborar com os talentosos músicos Éric-Maria Couturier (violoncelista do Ensemble Intercontemporain) e Bertrand Chavarria-Aldrete (guitarrista, artista visual e compositor que estreou mais de 90 peças contemporâneas como intérprete).
Este evento terá lugar em Lisboa, Portugal, de 6 a 10 de Julho de 2023. Os compositores, independentemente da idade e residência, são bem-vindos a concorrer.
Este ano, o tutor de composição será Jaime Reis (Portugal), que dará aulas individuais e em grupo aos alunos.

A data limite para a candidatura é 2 de Abril de 2023.

Cada participante seleccionado terá as seguintes oportunidades:
• Aulas com o compositor Jaime Reis;
• Ensaios com os músicos Éric-Maria Couturier e Bertrand Chavarria-Aldrete;
• Acesso a outros workshops e palestras (a anunciar);
• Chamada para partituras a serem apresentadas no concerto final das masterclasses a 10 de Julho de 2023. Os instrumentos disponíveis são: violoncelo e guitarra. Serão aceites tanto peças a solo como duo, com ou sem electrónica (fixa e ao vivo). Serão também consideradas peças acusmáticas (até dezasseis canais). Apenas uma peça será executada. Note-se que os músicos precisam de receber as partituras o mais tardar no dia 1 de Junho de 2023.
• Gravação áudio e vídeo das peças feitas durante o concerto final.
• Participação noutros concertos do festival que se realizarão no decorrer da semana (6-10 de Julho de 2023).

O valor das inscrições dependem das seguintes categorias:
· Participação activa (uma aula individual com o tutor) + Peça Executada: €500,00
· Participação activa (uma lição individual com o tutor) + Peça Executada (Acusmática): €350,00
· Participação passiva (possibilidade de assistir a todas as actividades, nenhuma aula individual e nenhuma peça executada): €150

Os compositores portugueses (ou residentes em Portugal) têm direito a receber uma bolsa que variará entre 50,00 euros e 200,00 euros. Os candidatos a bolsas devem juntar uma carta de motivação no formulário com um máximo de 3000 caracteres.
Cada participante é responsável pelas suas despesas de viagem, alojamento e refeições em Lisboa.
