International Stammtisch at Historisches Museum Frankfurt: English Tour

On Thursday, 8 October 2026, Newcomers Network invites you to a special guided tour of the exhibition “Die Welt im Geld” / “The World in Money” at the Historisches Museum Frankfurt.

The tour will take place from 17:00 to 18:00 and will be held in English. We will meet at 16:30 in the entrance hall of the museum.

This event is a great introduction for all newcomers who would like to discover Frankfurt from a new perspective and connect with other members of the international community.

In the exhibition “The World in Money”, Frankfurt can be rediscovered as a hub of global interconnections from antiquity to the present day. Through objects from the museum’s collection, global history becomes tangible in surprising ways: a credit card tells us something about the eco-movement of the 1970s, a share certificate reveals connections to colonial markets in the 19th century, and a medal shows the global consequences of an Indonesian volcanic eruption.

Colonial expansion, war, migration, climate catastrophes, technological innovations, and cultural change are all part of the exhibition. The plural form “globalizations” is deliberately used, because history does not unfold in one single direction, but through overlapping movements and connections.

The event will be held in English.
