About this Event
Join us as we raise funds for the wonderful work that International Neighbors of Charlottesville is doing for our community!
This class is for the beginner cookier, someone who is curious about what cookie decorating is all about, or those with experience looking for an opportunity to decorate for a great cause! If you have limited experience with sugar cookies, found yourself frustrated with royal icing, or if you're trying to have fun with family or friends, this is the class for you! We’ll be building a "Be a Great Neighbor" set and space is limited to 20 tickets so sign up ASAP! This class is good for ages 6 and up. Due to space, each person in attendance will need to have a ticket to participate. But don't worry, if you aren't able to get a ticket you can still support by making any monetary donation.
Everything will be provided! This includes cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your awesome creations home in - we just need YOU! Each cookie decorator gets 6 cookies, 4 icing colors, sprinkles, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park! Everything is prepped right before class – so no baking or icing mixing required. Just show up and decorate!
This class is on Sunday November 17, 2024 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm sharp so we can have enough time to decorate and answer any questions along the way. Come by yourself, bring your best friend, or bring the family - we have seating for up to 20 people! It's a blast whether you're coming with a friend, family member, or solo!
The class will be held at the The Art Bar in Charlottesville located at 1747 Allied St suite k, Charlottesville, VA 22903. Nervous about the parking situation? Don’t be! Parking is pretty easy and there is ample space to park.
Things to Bring
Wondering what you need to bring to have a successful time decorating? Well – nothing’s required – but here’s the things we recommend if you’d like to elevate your experience!
· Bring an apron! Things can get messy when you’re workin’ with royal icing – so grab an apron (bonus points if it’s cute – I’ll definitely be asking where you got it).
· Bring your glasses! There’s a reference slide deck to help you decorate, but if things get blurry far away, seeing glasses may be a great bet.
· Bring your phone! I love it when students take pictures throughout class – so bring a phone!
· Bring a mask if you’d like! These classes follow the state health guidelines, but if you’d like to wear a mask throughout class – please do!
· Bring a good attitude! Cookies are fun, but they're also challenging! A good attitude makes all the difference.
Allergen Disclaimer / Class Cancelation Policy / Weather Policy / Fees Disclaimer
Allergens: Heads up – these cookies include the following ingredients: Granulated Sugar, Salted Butter, Vanilla Extract, Egg, Baking Powder, All Purpose Flour, Powdered Sugar, Meringue Powder, Water, gel food coloring, and cornstarch. Please note – these cookies are prepared in a kitchen that also bakes with common, known allergens: tree nuts and peanuts, eggs, dairy, and wheat.
*Please consider your allergies before registering.
Class Cancelation Policy: Classes may be canceled at the discretion of the event host. This rarely happens – but in the event that it does, you’ll receive a 100% refund.
Classes with attendance below 3 will be canceled. Don’t be sad! You can either get a class credit for a future class (along with my apologies), or a full refund! I’ll let you know if your class has low attendance 3 days before the event is canceled so that you can bring a friend (hint hint) or find other plans for that day.
Weather Policy: Sometimes the Mother Nature has other plans and weather may conflict with cookie class schedules. In the event of inclement weather, I’ll contact you with options – these may differ depending on the weather event but rest assured – we’ll figure something out! Safety first!
Eventbrite Fees: Your ticket price includes your ticket fees; however, Eventbrite does not refund its fees. If you cancel your ticket and request a refund prior to the cancelation window expiring, I’ll happily give you a refund less the eventbrite fee – since I don’t get this fee back either. Eventbrite keeps it regardless of whether you show up or cancel.
