International law and the road to independence, Craig Murray, 8 March 2023

All Yes Perth City supporters are invited to attending this inspiring event as Craig Murray discusses our legal options to achieve independence, in light of the recent Supreme Court judgment.

He will analyse the requirements in international law affecting Scotland's right to self-determination.

From 2002 to 2004 Craig was the British ambassador to Uzbekistan, during which time he exposed the Uzbek government's use of torture. He lodged formal written complaints to the Foreign Office stating that it was morally and legally wrong for MI6 and the CIA to use intelligence obtained under torture, and that the intelligence so obtained was unreliable. Despite UK and US governments' strenuous denials, European investigators later found that, during the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, Uzbekistan was used as an American base in its programme of extraordinary rendition, because of its tolerance of the use of torture.
