Bring the whole family for a full day of activities at The Brown (formerly MOAS) as we celebrate our 6th annual International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This event will host an inspiring group of women from various disciplines to highlight the amazing achievements, accomplishments, and work that is being done in all areas of science. There will be guest speakers in the Lohman Planetarium, as well as presenters and demonstrations throughout the Museum. Admission: Free for members or with paid museum admission. 11:30AM - Hands-On Class: Project Plankton with Claire Miller, MDC Naturalist and Education Specialist | Children's Museum Classroom
By monitoring the phytoplankton and zooplankton populations living in the Lagoon, we will be able to better understand the variety of life invisible to the naked eye and how plankton respond to environmental changes. Join Marine Discovery Center in a plankton investigation that uses microscopes and the scientific method to explore the wonders of the photic zone!
