The City of New Haven Peace Commission and Southern Connecticut State University are joining together in a program to recognize International Day of Peace 2021. A peace tree will be planted on Southern's campus to remember those killed by gun violence in our communities and in wars abroad, and to affirm the commitment of New Haven as a peace messenger city, for action toward peace and justice everywhere.
The tree planting will be part of a program including members of the New Haven Peace Commission, SCSU President Joe Bertolino and members of the SCSU faculty and staff, and student leaders and musicians.
