This conference aims to highlight the critical role of women in economic diversification, explore barriers to their participation, and propose practical solutions for fostering gender-inclusive economic growth.
Women are needed in entrepreneurship for several reasons. Firstly, women entrepreneurs can help to create new jobs and contribute to the social and economic growth of their societies. Studies have shown that advancing women’s entrepreneurship could add trillions of dollars to the global economy by 2025.
Secondly, women entrepreneurs are known for recognizing gaps and unmet needs within their communities and creating products or services that meet those specific needs
Additionally, diversity in entrepreneurship can lead to innovation, as different perspectives bring new ideas and solutions to the table.
Finally, encouraging and supporting women entrepreneurship can help to promote gender equality and women’s economic empowerment, which is a cornerstone of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
