In this workshop you will be introduced to wheel throwing techniques that will take your studio practice to the next level. Combining thrown forms to create larger compositions, centering and throwing larger amounts of clay, coil throwing, and various other alternative throwing techniques will be covered. We will also cover how to alter and finish large forms for personal expression while highlighting the ergonomics and best practices for bodily health while working at a larger scale.
This workshop is intended for students who are already proficient in throwing basics. Participants should be comfortable centering 1 – 5 pounds of clay and able to throw a basic cylinder independently.
Level: Intermediate, Ages 16+
