INTRODUCING – Vintage, American Swing Dance

Enjoy East Coast Swing with Jasmine Worrell starting on Thursday, October 6, 2022. Class will run for 4 Thursdays in a row.

Intermediate level swing is offered Thursdays in Petaluma at Hermann Sons Hall at 860 Western Avenue from 6-7pm starting. Beginning level is held from 7-8pm, immediately after Intermediate. Email Jasmine to enroll in Beginning: [email protected].

If you have more than 3 months of swing dance experience, this series is for you! Swing is a fun social dance that is an instantly accessible way to enjoy social dancing to swing jazz, blues and rock and roll music. Swing is a form of social partner dance that evolved from Lindy Hop in the 1940s, and is based in six-count patterns that are simplified forms of Lindy Hop patterns. In practice on the social dance floor, we will mix six-count steps of the East Coast Swing with the eight-count steps of Lindy Hop and Charleston.

No partner is necessary. Singles and couples are welcome, alike! Classes are progressive, therefore every week within that series, we build upon the moves taught in the previous class.

INSTRUCTOR: Encouraging and warm swing instructor has over 15 years of swing dance experience, and the class offers a very casual, friendly, positive space to learn.
