About this Event
Intermediate Pottery Experience: Throwing BIG!
This NEW 4-week mini course series builds upon the
foundation built in Beginner Pottery Experience. As long as you can center clay and pull a cylinder, this class is for you!
ADULT CLASS
Further develop technical skills through teacher directed practice while you explore new forms beyond the mug and bowl. In this edition of I.P.E. participants will focus on “Throwing BIG” pieces of pottery. This includes learning to center 4 - 5 lbs of clay, to make works like planters, serving platters, water jugs, vases. There will still be practice with trimming a good foot, pulling handles, etc. Students learn to glaze with one color and one dip using the M.P.V.A. catalog of glazes. Again, the focus is on learning and practicing strong pottery skills. Students will save the best of their work to keep coming away with 4-6 pieces total.
Tools and clay are provided. Intermediate students may wish to purchase their own set of basic pottery tools to bring to class! $70
*This is not a beginner class. Students will not be taught how to center clay and pottery wheel basics. *
