This course will encourage students to sprinkle their scenes with the seeds for success and create competent and more than capable characters. Establish environments filled with functioning elements and a surplus of options available at arms length. And build relationships where people like each other at least see that the other has something to offer them. Build yourself your best world.
Or at least be like our hero, Oscar the Grouch, and relish your garbage.
Intermediate Improv reinforces all the skills learned in Introduction to Improv – active listening, agreement, line building, physical movement, commitment, focus on the who/what/where, emphasis on relationship, intuitive reaction vs trying to be funny, as well as recognizing and repeating emerging patterns.– by applying those techniques to more advanced scene work, character-creation scenarios, storytelling structures, and other entertaining theater games.
This class will culminate with a free student showcase in the space.
