Silversmithing with Lainie Davia
Join us for a three-part silversmithing intensive at the DAM Studio. Whether you're picking up a torch for the first time or looking to sharpen skills you already have, Lainie keeps class sizes small so each student can progress at their own pace.
Dates & Times:
- Friday, October 31 — 9 AM–1 PM
- Saturday, November 7 — 9 AM–1 PM
- Saturday, November 14 — 9 AM–5 PM (full day)
What you'll learn:
Intermediate students: This series builds from foundational technique into more advanced work. Skills you can advance into depending on your project include water casting, prong setting, texturing, and advanced soldering. Class projects include a pair of earrings, a ring, and a stone setting.
Beginning students: New to silversmithing? This series is a great place to start. No experience necessary — Lainie will walk you through the fundamentals from day one, and by the end of the three sessions you'll have made your own earrings, a ring, and a set stone. Small class sizes mean plenty of one-on-one guidance as you go.
Pricing:
- Full series (all three days): $400
- Oct 31 & Nov 7: $120 each
- Nov 14: $220
- Materials fee: TBD depending on student needs and price of silver
