About this Event
Interfaith Walk, 15 November 2026, 2-4pm
Westgate Court Avenue, Canterbury CT2 8JL
Victorian civic cemeteries are the last resting place of people from many different faith communities. Join us for an interfaith event that will explore the burial rituals, traditions, and prayers associated with the diverse beliefs in Canterbury City Cemetery.
Schedule of events:
- 2-3pm. Interfaith walk. The one-hour walk will start at the front entrance of the cemetery and proceed through the grounds at a gentle pace. During the walk, guests will make several stops to stand and listen to the guide along the tour. The walk is free, but donations will be greatly appreciated.
- 3-3.20pm. Interfaith prayer. A non-denominational prayer will be shared in the community chapel; all faiths are welcome.
- 3.20-4pm. Refreshments. Beverages and cakes will be available in the chapel after the prayer. Cash donations for the refreshments will be greatly appreciated, and all proceeds will go directly towards the renovation of the community chapel.
