About this Event
Oral health is a part of total health and early detection is key when treating any disease process, particularly in the treatment of periodontal disease. Assessment is paramount, increasing treatment options for patients and managing expectations. Collaboration among the entire dental team is essential to align a clear clinical philosophy with predictable treatment outcomes. Identifying candidates sooner than later to keep their dentistry and smile looking greater longer requires an increased level of communication by all members of the dental team. A highlight of this program will emphasize the true interdisciplinary approach between the specialist and restorative practice utilizing case review and evidence based treatment planning.
- History and evolution of periodontal disease and influence of the oral microbiome.
- Differentiate between health, gingivitis, active disease and maintenance.
- Establish a decision tree for management of non-surgical and surgical therapies.
