Shazia Iqbal is a filmmaker, writer, and production designer known for her powerful storytelling and socially relevant cinema. Starting her journey in production design with acclaimed projects like Sacred Games and Lust Stories, she soon transitioned to direction. Her debut short film Bebaak won the Filmfare Award and the Audience Choice Award at IFFLA, establishing her as a strong new voice in Indian cinema.

In 2025, she directed Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri, a film that fearlessly explores caste, identity, and love. Her unique blend of design sensibility, cinematic craft, and commitment to social justice makes her one of the most exciting contemporary filmmakers.
