Gregorian Cultural Club (GCUC) is excited to announce its upcoming Inter Class Cultural & Art Festival. This grand event promises to be a spectacular showcase of Gregorian talent, creativity, and unity and their enthusiasm to our culture.Only Gregorians are eligible to participate in any category. Must ensure that all participants meet the specified class requirements.
There are 4 different categories of the segments. These are - Singing & Recitation, Olympiad, Art, and Handwriting.
Categories of the segments:
1. Singing & Recitation:
Kids Group (Nursery - KG): Rhyme Song, Patriotic Song, Bengali Rhymes, English Rhymes.
Group A - 'ক' বিভাগ (Class 1 - Class 2): Rhyme Song, Patriotic Song, Bengali Poem Recitation, English Poem Recitation.
Group B - 'খ' বিভাগ (Class 3 - Class 4): Rabindra Sangeet, Patriotic Song, Bengali Poem Recitation, English Poem Recitation.
Group C - 'গ' বিভাগ (Class 5 - Class 6): Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet, Patriotic Song, Bengali Poem Recitation.
Group D - 'ঘ' বিভাগ (Class 7 - Class 8): Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet, Folk Song, Bengali Poem Recitation.
Group E - 'ঙ' বিভাগ (Class 9 - Class 12): Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet, Modern Song, Band Song, Bengali Poem Recitation.
Open Group - 'গ, ঘ, ঙ' গ্রুপ (Class 6 - 12): Instrumental Music, Jarigan based on educational theme (Must not include political or religious theme), Group Act - 'দলীয় অভিনয়' (Must be performed in a group and must not include political or religious theme).
2. Quiz / Olympiad:
Only Group D and Group E can participate.
Questions will be based on Bengali literature and Bengali grammar, Bengali Song, and Bengali Dramas.
3. Art:
Kids Category (Nursery - KG): Topic - Open.
Group A - 'ক' বিভাগ (Class 1 - Class 2): Topic - Open.
Group B - 'খ' বিভাগ (Class 3 - Class 4): Topic - Rural Bengal (গ্রাম বাংলা).
Group C - 'গ' বিভাগ (Class 5 - Class 6): Topic - Flood Scenario in Bangladesh (বন্যার দৃশ্য).
Group D - 'ঘ' বিভাগ (Class 7 - Class 8): Topic - Life of the people living in the hill tracts (পাহাড়ি জনজীবন).
Group E - 'ঙ' বিভাগ (Class 9 - Class 12): Topic - Science (বিজ্ঞান)
4. Handwriting (Bengali & English): Open for all groups.
Rules & Regulations:
1. Only the students of St. Gregory's High School & College can participate in the competitions.
2. Participants must fill up the form and fill up the details of participating segments correctly.
3. The name should be written in both English (in block letter) & Bengali clearly in the registration form.
4. A participant can participate in maximum 4 segments.
5. During the festival, participants must be in formal uniform and show his ID card.
6. Only Group C, D, E can participate in the open categories.
7. Only Group D, E can participate in the Quiz / Olympiad.
8. Art & Handwriting segments are open for all groups.
9. Rhyme Songs must be performed in Bengali. Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet and English Rhymes can not be performed as Rhyme Songs.
10. Only the 90's songs can be performed in the Modern Song category. (For example: The songs of Hemanta Mukhopadhyay, Subir Nandi, Manna Dey, and others.)
11. Participants can play a single instrument of their choice and they must bring their own instrument.
12. Participants must play their Group Act (Drama) in a refined and elegant way (in dress sense, in accent). And, they can not bring up any religious or political topic.
13. To perform any song, they have to bring their own Tabla player companion.
14. The team can be formed of maximum 5 participants in Jarigan and Group Act (Drama). And, one participant can not take part in multiple teams.
15. Participants must be wise to choose an appropriate band song.
16. Participants or their guardians are prohibited to contact with the Judges during this festival.
17. Participants must agree with the decisions of the judges.
18. Gregorian Cultural Club & Art Club and SGHSC Administration hold all the rights to make any change in decision.
The registration forms have already been sold out. More than 500 participants registered in the competition.
