Dog Days Trainer/Behaviorist Jeannette Rybak is offering her course, “Intensive Leash Training”, on Sundays from July 27th thru September 7th (excluding Sunday August 24th), to help those dogs that need to learn to walk better on a leash.This 6-week intensive program focuses on exercises that are designed to not only teach your dog to walk next to you, but also how to practice impulse control and calm down in order to get to the root of the leash walking problem. We will start the training here on the grounds of Dog Days and then work up to meeting off our property to put the dogs in different scenarios with different distractions. A leash-trained dog is a dog that has been taught to walk with a loose leash by your side, and one that doesn't pull, cross in front of you or bark uncontrollably at the sight of other dogs, cats, humans, or other distractions.
To start, owners and their pups will meet in the Ruff House (big building in the back) for 1 ½ hour sessions and when Jeannette feels the group is ready, she will instruct you where to meet. The cost is $450 for the 9 hours of training. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory.
Times are 10AM – 11:30AM each day. Class sizes will be limited to 6 dogs with registration and payment required by 7/19/25.
Owners should bring a long leash (not a retractable one), a harness, some yummy treats (please not their dog food but a treat they truly love and will work hard for) and a positive and calm attitude
