1. How long does the course last?

Lessons take place twice a week over 10 weeks and last 2 hours each, 40 hours total.

2. Who is the course for?

The A1.1 language course is open for all beginner's at every level and there are no prerequisites to participate to this section. No prior knowledge required.

The A1.2 language course is reserved for our current students and previous students who have completed the A1.1 level with satisfactory attendance. Intermediate level students who may need a light refreshing also may enroll.

3. What are the objectives of the course?

For students to acquire basic language skills and to achieve the equivalent of the A1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTRL) Novice-level.

4. By the end of the course you will:

-Understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of concrete needs.

-Introduce yourself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where you live, people you know and things you have.

-Interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

5. How is the course taught?

The course will be conducted online via Zoom. A communicative approach is used. All four skills (speaking, reading, listening and writing) are practiced, with the main emphasis on speaking. Students engage in interactive language activities, participating in group and pair work according to a syllabus based on systematic grammatical progression.

6. What course can I do next?

After completing this course, students should be ready to join an A1.2 course at the Rudaki Language Academy.

7. Textbook and exercise book

Students will receive a digital copy of the Rudaki Language Academy’s textbook from the institution during their first week of the course. (Greater Khorasan Press, publication forthcoming, 2022)

8. How do I enroll in classes?

Your enrollment to the Intensive Farsi, Dari or Tajiki Persian Language Course Beginners Level Part1 A1.1 & Part 2 A1.2 [Winter 2022] will not be considered complete unless you submit your official "Course Application Form" and "Personal Statement Essay." The prompts for these two items will be sent to the email you provide once you register for the class on Eventbrite.
